Ismar Gomes - Teaching
Teaching is the most important part of being a musician. Helping younger generations to study, understand, and enjoy art is essential to insure that these opportunities will still be available in the future.
I have been teaching for 8 years, and what I have learned during that time is that cello teaching is a way to help guide people of all ages toward successful lives. The skills necessary to acheive a high level of artistry are the same skills we tap in order to realize goals in all parts of our lives. Discipline, independence, rigorous and thoughtful problem solving, along with both physical and mental agility and freedom, are among the chief virtues of an excellent musician.
It is my goal as a teacher to facilitate expression in my students. Over the years I have been dedicated to all my students, whether in chamber music coachings or in private lessons. By tailoring my teaching methods for each student, and with dedicated work from both teacher and student, I believe that one can produce great results in a short amount of time.
Currently I teach privately in the New City Area and on Long Island. If you have any interest in beginning or continuing your studies, please get in touch with me via the link below.
